Mass for All Souls

On November 2nd the Church celebrates ‘a Commemoration of All the Faithful Departed also known as All Souls Day. On this day we honor them for their fidelity in life, as well as pray for them, since they are being purified before entering the All Holy Presence  of God.(Source).
On Saturday, November 2 at 9:00 am, we invite all  Parishioners to a special Mass, here at St. Patrick’s Church, which will be offered for all our departed loved ones. At the Mass there will be an opportunity to have candles blessed (candles available by donation). These candles can be lit when when praying for the souls of the faithful departed, whether that be at their graveside or in our homes.

* Please note, that this central All Souls Day Mass, replaces our annual grave blessing at Oceanview Cemetery.

Eternal Rest Prayer

“From the beginning the Church has honored the memory of the dead and offered prayers in suffrage for them, above all the Eucharistic sacrifice, so that, thus purified, they may attain the beatific vision of God.” - CCC 1032

Prayer for Eternal Rest (The Requiem Prayer)

Eternal rest grant unto them, O Lord,
and let perpetual light shine upon them.
May the souls of all the faithful departed,
through the mercy of God, rest in peace.
~Amen~
