Pro-Life Society

Would you like to participate in the work of protecting the unborn and elderly?

The St. Patrick’s Pro-Life Society equips parishioners to promote the culture of life. From street counselling ministries to safe havens for mothers and their children, parishioners of St. Patrick’s Parish have a long history of participation in pro-life work that stems back to before to the abortion law was struck down in Canada in 1969[1]. In fact, 4 parishioners have formerly served on the board of directors of the Vancouver Right to Life Society[2]. In 1993, an official St. Patrick’s Pro-Life Society was started in response to Archbishop Exner’s introduction of a new Pro-Life Strategy and their work continues to the present day.

Today, the Pro-Life Society organizes St. Patrick’s Parish Presence at Pro Life events throughout the province, while educating people on the dignity of human life. Members of the society attend the March for Life in Victoria every year and participate in the Vancouver Life Chain. The St. Patrick’s Pro-Life society also regularly organizes talks from right-to-life speakers, like Stephanie Gray, and attends the Signal Hill Pro-Life Dinner annually.
