FAQ : Re-opening for Mass

How will the Parish determine the 50 person max. to attend a given Mass?

  • Anyone who wishes to attend a Weekend Mass, will need to register in advance by calling the office. Only 50 registrations will be accepted.
  • Volunteers will only be admitting parishioners who have registered for the given Weekend Mass, or have shown up for a weekday Mass up to a 50 person limit at each Mass.

If I can’t come to Weekend Mass, can someone else take my place?

  • Eligibility for registration is non-transferable, this means, you may not give-up your spot to a parishioner whose last name does not begin with letter of the alphabet set for that week.

How do I register for the Weekend Mass I would like to attend?

  • Please call the Parish office at (604) 874-7818 ext. 110 during the designated registration hours: Monday to Friday, 9.00 am – 12.30 pm and 1.30 pm – 5.00 pm. Registration requests submitted by any other means, such as voicemail, email or website message will not be processed.

Can someone call the office to register me on my behalf for weekend Mass?

  • Yes, absolutely. Anyone may call the office to sign-up an eligible registered parishioner, who may not be able to call during the set times.

How does the Parish ensure physical distancing at Church?

  • Seating is restricted to every second or third pew. Restricted areas are cordoned off.
  • Pews designated for seating are clearly marked with colored tape.
  • Tape on the floor indicates proper two meter spacing between persons.

What measures does the parish take to ensure proper sanitation?

  • Ushers offer hand sanitizer to each person who enters the Church.
  • Volunteers  clean and sanitize the pews and other commonly touched surfaces, immediately after Mass.
  • Holy Water and Baptismal fonts remain empty in order to decrease risk of contamination.
  • All hymnals, missals, pew cards, and other loose items in the pews have been removed, in order to decrease risk of contamination and facilitate cleaning.
  • Collection baskets are not be passed from person to person in the pews. A “collection point” with 1 donation basket is set-up at the entrance of the Church for any incoming offerings.

Will St. Pat’s still have a Sunday Mass live-stream?
