Canadian Catholic Organization For Development and Peace (CCODP)

Are you interested in working to alleviate the symptoms of poverty and war in the third world?

Whereas the St. Vincent de Paul Society works to help the local poor, the Canadian Catholic Organization For Development and Peace (CCODP) works to improve the conditions of the poor in the “Global South”. The CCODP is a membership led organization supported by parish collections, individual donations and government grants, principally from the Canadian International Development Agency.

For many years, St. Patrick’s Parish has had a small group of peace and development volunteers who volunteer on behalf of the CCODP. Past volunteer initiatives have included postcard-writing campaigns to Canadian MP’s (to increase awareness about the plight of the global poor), charitable fundraisers and food collections. St. Patrick’s organization and development volunteers currently organize the parish’s Share Lent campaign and other annual fundraisers to help the impoverished.

Help support the poor and oppressed by working for integral development, emergency relief, advocacy, peace building, respect for human rights, and proper stewardship of the environment! Contact Lydia Farrales to find out how you can support the CCODP.
